Jay's Morning News

Most mornings, I skim my RSS reader for news about science and new technologies that could be used for teaching. If a headline sounds like it might be interesting for a science teacher or student, I bookmark with a subject tag so that the article an a brief comment are listed by topic. These topic lists are listed below.

As a student, I always found it interesting when my teachers related the topics we study to the "real world." In the past, this was usually a verbal reference to a news story or a copy of an article from a newspaper or a magazine. The internet provides a constant flow of free articles on almost any topic. For the teacher who is trying to provide his or students with real world connections, today's challenge is to find a way to gather these resources and then to make them available to their students.
